Start Date: ASAP

Are you a caring and dedicated individual looking to make a difference in the lives of children? We are currently seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in a mainstream primary classroom. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a student and contribute to their educational journey in a supportive and inclusive environment.

About Us: Our school is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. We believe in the importance of supporting students with diverse needs and abilities to ensure they reach their full potential.

Position Overview: As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific pupil, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs. While previous experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is beneficial, it is not essential for this role. We are looking for compassionate individuals who are eager to learn and make a positive impact on the life of a child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a pupil within the mainstream primary classroom setting.
  • Assist the student with their learning activities, ensuring they are engaged and making progress.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to create and implement individualised learning plans.
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship with the pupil, promoting their self-confidence and independence.
  • Maintain regular communication with the class teacher and SENCO regarding the pupil's progress and any concerns or achievements.
  • Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting (experience with SEN is beneficial but not essential).
  • Compassionate and patient demeanour, with a genuine desire to support the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach, willing to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and safeguarding.
  • hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
