Male Teaching Assistant for Year 4 Student with SEN N

Position: Male Teaching Assistant
Location: Wavertree
Start Date: September 2024
Type: Full-Time

The school in Wavertree is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Male Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 student with various Special Educational Needs (SEN). This full-time position, starting in September, is an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about making a positive impact in a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised academic, emotional, and behavioural support to a Year 4 student with SEN.
  • Implement and adapt individualised education plans (IEPs) to cater to the student's unique needs.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff members to ensure the student's progress and well-being.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document the student's progress, offering regular feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
  • Support the student during classroom activities, break times, and extracurricular activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous but not essential.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to undertake a new one.
