One of the longest serving clients in Tradewind's history have contacted us seeking CVs of Key Stage 3 and 4 Mathematics Teachers to join them on a long-term basis with an immediate start effective; the role offers a very competitive salary available in line with experience (Main Pay Scale Inner London - £28,660 - £39,006).
The school in question has long been known as one of the highest achieving schools in London. It is easily accessible from every corner of the city being based next to one of the most accessible stations in London; linked by 5 different tube lines. The current staff base, and department, are made up of a complete mix of Newly Qualified and experienced Teachers. Responsibilities for this Mathematics Teacher Role include:
This role will involve teaching co-educational classes of approximately 30 motivated boys and girls with a timetable heavily weighted (66%) at Key Stage 3.
*To follow the school's curriculum and assessment methodology (which are largely based on the National Curriculum)
*To assess prospective pupil applications
*To do at least one duty a week (paid additional)
*Core hours are 8:15am to 3.45pm, with one 8am duty for one week per year. To attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required out of school hours
*To contribute to 'house' and other whole school activities (e.g. sports day)
*Occasional internal cover of absent staff
The school adopts a policy of supportive rigour when developing students academic and extra-curricular performance. Small class sizes mean that teachers have the opportunity to pay close attention to their pupils and develop each child's skills.
The ideal candidate for this Key Stage 3 and 4 Mathematics Teacher role will:
*be experienced and/or qualified to teach both subjects at Key Stage 3 and 4.
*be empathetic to the students and contribute to the school's friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere.
*be familiar with the national curriculum and assessment methodology
*A sense of warmth and having a caring outlook.
*Any other skills or subject expertise may be helpful.
