Tradewind are working with an amazing school on the outskirts of York, who are looking to recruit a Maths teacher from the start of the academic year, initially until January 2021, however this may be subject to change in the future. This is a vacant position, and the school now believe that they will be unable to recruit due to current circumstances. As a result of this, there may be potential for an extended contract, or even for a permanent position at the end of this contract, if that is what the candidate desires. If changes are made to current scheduling, and schools return sooner than expected, there may be potential for this position to start earlier. Senior leadership from the school are still contactable via email, so applicants will still be kept in the loop about proceedings, it just may be slightly slower than usual! The position is a full time Maths teaching position, and we are looking for a candidate that can teach Maths up to Key Stage 5. If you only have experience teaching to Key Stage 4, please still apply. This is a department that is extremely organised, and the subject leader has a wealth of resources to share, meaning planning for this position will be minimal. While this position is to cover a maternity leave, there is potential for this to become a permanent position, depending on the staffing situation at the school in the new academic year. All planning and marking associated with a teaching position will be expected for this role, and as such the successful candidate can expect pay that is reflected in this. Successful candidates can expect to earn between £120.00 and £183.00 per day for this position, depending on qualifications and experience. As you will be paid to scale for this position, you will be expected to attend any parents evenings that the school are running, and you will be treated as a permanent member of staff, with PPA time and free periods for planning and marking purposes. Ideally we are looking for a practitioner who is fully qualified with QTS, but of course we will be interested in hearing from practitioners who are qualified in the FE sector, with experience teaching students in the 11-16 age range. We would be interested to hear from NQTs who are looking for their first teaching role.

Due to the location of the school it is most accessible via car, and has a large on site car park that provides ample spacing for practitioners who drive. If you rely on public transport, please don't hesitate to get in touch as we may be able to organise a car share. This is a full time vacancy, but a job share may be possible for two excellent candidates who only have part time availability. This is an absolutely wonderful school which is a true joy to work in. Typical school hours are between 8:30AM and 3:50PM
