About the school - Music Teacher - Redbridge, East London
This particular school has great effectiveness of leadership and management, personal development, behaviour and welfare, building on its strengths and improving upon their weaknesses. The school is also a very community based family feel, with really support colleagues, and welcoming departments.

This school is based in Redbridge, East London and is easily accessible on the central line, about 10 minutes from Stratford Station. Some of the staff travel on the central line, jubilee line, DLR, TFL Rail and London Overground from all parts of London and have no issues with getting into the school easily. However, the school have an accessible car park for staff, so could be easily commutable for drivers.

The new Headteacher has made substantial differences in the quality of the pupil's experience at school and as a result achievement has massively improved. The Headteacher's purposeful leadership has energised leaders throughout the school, which has filtered to teaching staff and pupils respectively. Pupils behaviour is consistently good in lessons and around the school; they are respectful of others and contribute positively to the school's work and culture. The school have good facilities, strong CPD for staff and excellent relationships between students and staff.

About the role - Music Teacher - Redbridge, East London
Music is taught as a compulsory subject to KS3 students, with an option for students to choose Music at GCSE, A Level and BTEC. They have a good record of examination passes at GCSE and A Level, and the creative and performing arts segment of the department has been identified as a strength of the schools most recent Ofsted report.

The department consists of 2 Music Teachers as well as a number of peripatetic staff. The music suite comprises of 3 classrooms, 4 practice rooms, a computer room and a drum room. The school have a successful school choir and school band who produces regular concerts.

12% of students receive lessons on a music instrument from the team of peripatetic teachers who visit the school, music-making is not confined to those students learning a musical instrument, however. The strong emphasis in the classroom is on practical, 'hands-on' learning.

Responsibilities for this Music Teacher would include;
*Being an inspiration to others, being able to collaborate and work in a team whilst working closely with the Curriculum Leader
*Teaching KS3 Music which covers topics including Keyboard skills, Rock Music, Band Skills, Ground Bass, Blues Music and Music from Around the World.
*Teaching KS4 and KS5 Music which is more specified on what the student chooses.
*Teaching Music to the edexcel syllabus, teaching students how to produce high quality performances and exciting compositions
*Using different strategies to keep students engaged and motivated to learn
*Supporting the Raising Standards drive - for example taking intervention classes
*Producing enjoyable and stimulating schemes of work for the department
Requirements for you as a Music Teacher include;
*Holding a QTS holder (or equivalent teaching qualification)
*Having an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance and previous professional references that are at an average of Good or above
*Having a legal right to work in the UK
