Tradewind is recruiting! We are currently looking for someone to support a disengaged male pupils on a 1:1 basis in an Alternative Education setting based in Knowle. The work is full-time and will involve the use of a car and to support the young person from various Bristol locations at times. The ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour is a must for this role.

Hours of work is 0830-1630 everyday Monday to Friday term-time. There is generous pay offer for the right candidate. The role is starting as soon as possible. The rate of pay is 10 GBP per hour and plus .40 p per mile.

Previous experience is working within an Alternative Education provision, PRU or Military background is also desirable. Interest in Sports such as Rugby, Football and Martial Arts is useful to build rapport with the student during vocational lessons as the work will involve regular trips to Sports settings and games.

The hours of work are strictly between 0830-1630 but there will be flexibility dependent on the timetable of the young person.


These roles might be ideal for you if:

-You have previous SEMH experience or Qualifications. (Ability to work with challenging behaviour is a must)
- You are willing to travel to and from various Bristol locations as well as using your own car. (Business insurance must be obtained)
-You have previously worked with disengaged young people or been involved in projects roles where you managed young people with challenging behaviour.
-You have experience and understanding of child development and learning and can show empathy and understanding as well as being a firm, fair and calm role model at all times.
-You are available full-time.
-You have a flexible and conscientious approach and can adapt to last minute changes in their behaviour, timetable.

To be considered for this role, you must have your own transport and be willing to use it to transfer the young person in your own vehicle and obtain the necessary business insurance for it.
