Tradewind is supporting a very good 2 form Catholic School in Watford with their vacancy for a part-time (afternoons) Learning Support Assistant supporting a child in with Autism in Year 5.

The child will mostly be supported out of class on a 1:1 basis. You will be required to build a rapport with the child through trust and routine.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be expected to have the following:

*ability to deliver group and individual activities
*ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
*ability to contribute to the selection and preparation of resources
*skills in behaviour management
*ability to demonstrate good speaking and listening skills
*ability to effectively communicate with children and adults
*a willingness to extend personal skills
*a commitment to uphold the ethos of the school
*ability to provide a safe environment for pupils to play/socialize outside

The school is graded Outstanding and has a longstanding and highly supportive team that encourage development from within. Based in Watford the school has very easy access to the M1 and M25 with a large school car park. Alternatively a 30 minute walk from the main train station and also directly opposite a bus stop with excellent bus links.

The role is to start ASAP on a fixed term basis for the rest of the term.
