Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an organised SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in an alternative education provision in Wiltshire?

Tradewind are currently recruiting for a hardworking and experienced SEN teaching assistant to work in an alternative provision catering for female students from vulnerable backgrounds. The role is to support female pupils in a holistic and pastoral capacity as well as tutoring them on a one to one basis.


Working hours are 0830-1530 and it will involve supporting the female students to develop their emotional well being and develop their academic levels.

The school offers extracurricular activities and additional curriculum to students. Hence a keen interest in sports, horses, outdoor and cooking would be ideal.

The role would suit someone with experience of working with young people in care who have been excluded from mainstream education and can be nurturing and empathetic as well as managing challenging behaviour at times.


After visiting the school, the grounds of the school and the expertise of the staff really impressed us. Behaviour of the pupils were well managed but also supported in a caring, friendly and nurturing manner. Staff seemed to be happy and working well together. It was incredible to see such young person-centred care given to students.

There is a strong leadership team that has got over 30 years of experience in supporting young people in care. There is great support network around the students and staff including educational psychologists and local authority staff.

Essential requirements:

Previous experience of supporting looked after children would be ideal.
Understanding of special needs
