PE Teacher; September 2019; Bexley School.
The Head Teacher is seeking a PE Teacher to help raise attainment and inspire young minds. The school has a supportive and successful Senior Leadership Team who are willing to offer bespoke NQT induction programmes to PE NQTs. There are possible TLR opportunities for experienced PE Teachers such as 2iC, Pastoral Lead and Key-Stage Co-Ordinator.
The school has great GCSE and A level results and is highly successful. The PE Teacher / PE NQT will need to be confident in the classroom and able to use their initiative and deliver engaging lessons.
Responsibilities for this Key Stage 3 and 4 PE Teacher Role include:
You will be responsible for teaching PE to mixed ability classes, with the ability to teach PE up to Key Stage 3/4. There will be the prospect of you also having to plan lessons, in line with National Curriculum expectations if the duration of the role is extended. You will be required to effectively manage pupil behaviour both in and out of the classroom setting and provide ongoing and consistent feedback on pupil progression.
*To follow the school's curriculum and assessment methodology (which are largely based on the National Curriculum)
*To assess prospective pupil applications
*To do at least one duty a week (paid additional)
*To attend staff meetings and parents' evenings as required out of school hours
*To contribute to 'house' and other whole school activities (e.g. sports day)
*Occasional internal cover of absent staff

Based in the borough of Bexley; near Overground stations and local buses and transport links.
