Tradewind are working with a school in the South Sheffield area seeking an experienced phonics intervention teaching assistant.
The successful candidate should have a thorough understanding of Phonics and how to help children progress in this area. Experience of different phonics packages such as Jolly phonics and Read Write Inc would be valuable to this role, although the school does not subscribe to any one phonics package.
You will be supporting children mainly in Reception, and Key Stage 1 in small groups although you will also be required to support children in Key Stage 2 with specific learning difficulties on a one to one basis.
As well as working with small groups of children you will also be supporting the class teacher in whole class Phonics lessons.
This role would be suitable for a Teaching Assistant who has had previous experience in a similar role or even for a qualified teacher.
The school has great public transport links being a short walk from a tram stop and staff also have access to a secure private car park.

To join us and be successful in this Phonics Teaching Assistant role you will need to:
Hold a recognised TA qualification at Level 2 or higher
Have experience supporting phonics.
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable and professional reference checks and you must be happy to make the initial payment for the check which can be claimed back once you have worked 20 days for Tradewind.
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history, where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained.
You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
