Physical Education Teacher
You would be responsible for teaching PE to KS3 and 4 students and supporting them to achieve their GCSEs. Students will also be working towards vocational qualifications and are supported to develop life and social skills through personal development programmes run by the school including: anger management, making positive choices, healthy lifestyles and independent living.
The voice of the child is central to the ethos of this school. All students are encouraged to share their views and to be active participants in the school community. Opportunities for team work and leadership and provided to develop skills such as co-operation, communication and taking responsibility. Teachers take an active role in helping students develop confidence, self-respect, and ownership for their own success. Pupils are also invited to be present for SEN review meetings to share their wishes and feelings with families and staff.
The Teacher would:
*The ability to teach Physical Education to KS3 and KS4 pupils to GCSE standard
*Proven classroom ability and management of outdoor activities
*Experience of and a solid understanding of using assessment to support learning
*Strong knowledge and strategies for positive behaviour management
*Support students with SEMH, Autism (ASC), Asperger's Syndrome, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and ADHD
*Involve students in setting their own goals and ensuring lessons are differentiated to support each individual learner
*Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure students receive holistic support
