PPA Teacher - Chatham

Full-time - MPS - ASAP start

Tradewind Recruitment are sourcing for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to cover PPA at a school in Chatham on a full-time basis. This is a contract that will start immediately and will run till the end of the academic year. Both experienced teachers and ECTs alike are welcome to apply.

The school is an Ofsted graded Good school as of 2023 and is 2 form entry. The school is based close to Chatham town centre and is easily accessible via public transport. The school does a lot to ingratiate themselves in the local community and fosters practical life skills as part of it's curriculum. Reading is a priority for the school and they have developed an effective Phonics programme that supports reading through the whole school. Behaviour is very good on the whole too and poor behaviour is addressed well within the school.

The Role

  • Delivering the Primary Curriculum across KS1 and KS2
  • Delivering the cover work set out by the class teacher but adapting where necessary and appropriate.
  • Marking the work completed by the students in your lessons for the returning teacher.
  • Managing behaviour within the classroom effectively
  • Taking part in staff meetings and training sessions if required

Requirements

  • Hold QTS in the UK
  • Experience teaching the UK Primary Curriculum. Experience weighted more to either KS1 or KS2 is not entirely essential.
  • Be open to teaching multiple year groups, potentially across KS1 and KS2.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to get one.
  • Have right to work in the UK
