Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding SEN teacher for a lovely Primary SEN provision in Brent, North-West London. The role is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for teaching EYFS-KS1 ASC SEN pupils. The post is to start in January and would be working until for the remainder of the academic year, with the view to go permanent for the right candidate.



This position is best suited to teachers who have experience working with Autism (ASC) and speech and language difficulties. All students in the provision will have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).



The SEN Teacher would:

Work with a class of 5 pupils
Teach pupils with Autism (ASC) of EYFS-KS1 age.
Be supported by 2 full-time teaching assistants in class
Use proactive de-escalation techniques and follow individual therapy plans
Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs
Work closely with senior leadership and your team of support staff
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status
Have experience with PECS and Makaton
Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students with autism, with a variety of special needs and who present challenging behaviour.

Based in Brent, this Ofsted rated 'Good' school has a SEN provision which caters for pupils with a wide range of SEN but mainly focusing on ASC pupils. This lovely SEN school is interviewing experienced SEN teachers looking for their next long-term opportunity.



The school is in Brent and has multiple bus routes, although is best suited for drivers.



The school grounds are compacted but do contain a superb playground for SEN pupils, sensory garden and break out spaces for staff. The premises feel warm and welcoming, with students' artwork and photos of school events on display.
