Are you a qualified primary teacher looking for an interesting role in a school in North London?

A great primary school in Barnet, North West London has a vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher to join the team from Easter, to work as their PPA/floating teacher for at least 1 term.

This is a "good" school, close to public transport and with on-road parking for drivers. The Headteacher joined the school when it required improvement and they have made rapid improvement, to where they are today, being close to "outstanding". This has been through the hard work and determination of the team, many of whom have been at the school for a few years and have taken on a shared commitment to improving the school. The school is now used as an example to other schools of how a school can be turned around.
They are lucky enough to have a large playing field and all-weather PE courts/playground.

The role:
This will be a brilliant role, in which you will be asked to cover regular PPA time throughout the school, as well as working as a floating teacher, as and where needed.
You will be expected to teach from Nursery to Year 6 and there will be some planning expectations, but will also be following plans set by teachers and you will also need to mark work.
The school need a versatile teacher who is prepared for anything and who is an excellent communicator. You may often be asked to change plans at short notice, so will need to be ready for anything!


The ideal candidate for this Primary PPA/floating Teacher role should meet the following criteria:
A teacher who is suitably qualified and who has solid experience in a UK primary classroom
Someone who is able to teach from EYFS to Year 6, so good phonics experience would be great and also the knowledge to tackle Year 6 curriculum
A teacher who is forward-thinking and who has a flexible approach
Have a motivated and enthusiastic teaching style
Be open-minded, self-evaluative and adaptable to changing circumstances and new ideas at short notice
A teacher who has a willingness to be involved in the wider life of the school

The school is based in Barnet borough, North London, within a short walk from the nearest underground station.

Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
You must have the legal right to work in the UK
