An opportunity has presented to work as a KS1 teacher in Year 1 in a wonderful two-form entry school in Tameside. This full-time class teacher role begins January 2021 and will run until the end of the academic year. This is a very large school so there is potential of a permanent opportunity available depending upon your success in the role and you will be paid a competitive salary between £125 - £185 per day that reflects your suitability and experience.


The school achieved 'Good' in their latest OFSTED inspection and their success has been largely due to an experienced Headteacher and strong leadership team who have a shared school vision in which to maximise educational potential within a rich, diverse, curriculum that is exciting, engaging and inspiring. The report highlighted school wide good behaviour and recognised the academic growth across KS1 in reading and writing. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fantastic team, make a valuable contribution helping the school to build on prior successes.


As the Year 1 teacher, your responsibilities will be but not limited to:
*Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 1 class and comply with behaviour management, assessment and safeguarding policies.
*Complete detailed plans that align with the curriculum content but allow for creativity within the classroom.
*Deliver engaging lessons that motivate and inspire pupils and encourage learning beyond the classroom
*Build a positive rapport with the class based on trust and mutual respect and support the development of wide-ranging skills and positive attitudes that will prepare pupils for the world in which we live
*Review, record and report on pupil performance analysing data to determine both progression and regression addressing ways in which to raise educational attainment
*Plan targeted interventions across core subjects and reflect progress in relation to targets set to evaluate their effectiveness and make adjustments accordingly
*Contribute to the broad range of extra-curricular activities offered on a rotational basis by the school and attend wider school events in the local community.

To be successful in this Year 1 teaching role, you will:
*Hold QTS Certification
*Have experience teaching in a KS1 setting (desirable)
*Be able to provide an up to date CV covering 10 years of previous employment history with no gaps
*Be subject to an enhanced DBS check and overseas police check (if applicable)
*Have a right to work in the UK.
