On behalf of our client school, Tradewind would like to present you with a truly fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the provision of primary education and lifelong learning prospects within a thriving school. This is a KS1 position in Year 1 which will commence in October 2020 and run for a least 2 terms with the possibility of an extension until the end of the academic year depending on your success in the role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a mixed-ability year 1 class whose attainment levels in numeracy and literacy are above average. You will be working within a diverse community so experience supporting pupils with EAL will be hugely advantageous to the role. You will also be joined by a highly experienced full-time TA who has established positive relationships with all children in the class and is familiar with the Year 1 curriculum.

The successful candidate will have:

The ability to create detailed lesson plans that are engaging and align with the National Curriculum Standards

A thorough knowledge of the range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively

A clear understanding of age-related expectations for children within Year 1 and an ability to analyse and assess learning in order to drive learning forward

A strong application of ICT to enhance learning opportunities

A willingness to contribute to wide school life and extra-curricular activities

Knowledge and understanding of the implications of equal opportunities, multicultural education and inclusion.



Essential Requirements:

QTS Certification

A minimum of 2 years experience (KS1 highly desirable)

The right to work in the UK
