An opportunity has presented to work for a wonderful two-form entry school in Hyde, Tameside. This is full-time class teacher role beginning January 2021 and will run until the end of the academic year with the possibility of this position being extended, depending on your success in the role.
As the Year 1 teacher, you will be working in a two-form, OFSTED rated 'Good' school in a popular suburb of Tameside. With an average class size of around 25 pupils, there is a huge opportunity and expectation to develop strong pupil relationships where educational potential is maximised at every level.
You will be working in a mixed-ability class so the ability to differentiate lessons to both scaffold and stretch learners will be key to allowing children to progress. You will also be joined by a full-time SNA who is very experienced in this year group.
During the schools recent OFSTED inspection, it was particularly praised for positive school-wide behaviour as a result of consistent effective structures. The school also made significant growth across reading and writing and this success was largely due to the dedicated Headteacher and passionate team of staff that work extremely hard to achieve intended goals.
As the Year 1 teacher, your responsibilities will be but not limited to:
*Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a year 1 class
*Thoroughly plan and deliver engaging lessons that motivate and inspire learners
*Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on mutual respect and support pupils social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing
*Teach a creative curriculum utilising a range of approaches that cater for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning preferences
*Review, report and reflect on daily practice to inform future planning and improve educational outcomes
*Deliver the letters and sounds phonics scheme with fidelity
*Plan targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy to bridge gaps in learning and accelerate pupil progress
*Contribute to the broad range of extra-curricular activities offered by the school that operate on a rotational basis.

To be considered for position as a Year 1 teacher you must:
-Hold QTS certification (or an equivalent).
- Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks. Or be happy to undertake a new DBS through us
-Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
-Have the legal right to work in the UK
