Primary Teaching Assistant - Any Year from Reception to Year 4 - Graduate background with a desire to take on teacher training (minimum 2:1 or better) - Excellent Primary School located in Barnet, North London - Permanent post paying around £16, 000

Has teaching been a consideration of yours and you would be keen to gain some class based experience prior to starting teacher training potentially within a year?

Tradewind is working with an exceptional primary school with a diverse and vibrant community which is growing to Year 4 in September 2019. Due to growing, they require Teaching Assistants to join their school and seek graduates who are interested in working with children, supporting teachers and children in the classroom, and perhaps starting a career in teaching in the future.

***Primary Teaching Assistant - To support and teach any class from Reception to Year 4 - Teacher can choose - Graduate with a 2:1 minimum

About the School - Primary Teaching Assistant
*This modern Primary School is part of an academy in Barnet, North London.
*It is a fairly new school which will have its first intake of year 4 from September 2019.
*The school has a diverse and multi-cultural intake of pupils, and some of which have English as their second language meaning that the ability levels of many children joining the school is below what would usually be expected.
*The school focuses a lot of its energy on ensuring this gap is closed as quickly as possible and one of the methods they use to do this is to bring in top graduates who have a desire to teach to work as teaching assistants, supporting learning and giving students the individual attention they require to make sustained progression.
*The school is a Teach First School and offers excellent teacher training opportunities and CPD.
*Being a new school, class sizes are currently small with up to 20 children in each class.
*It is a 2-form entry primary school and each class has one teaching assistant.

About the Role - Primary Teaching Assistant
*To be successful in this post academic ability must be coupled with the right personal skills to help 30 young minds develop a love for education.
*The personal qualities required for this role will be to engage, inspire and progress the young students.
*This will take a mixture of confidence, understanding, ability and compassion to help these students believe in themselves and what they can achieve.
*The role will require teaching small groups, whole class and intervention work.
*This is a great role that is so much more than just a teaching assistant post and could lead to a full teacher training placement via the school's own programme.
