This is a PRU Teacher role starting as soon as possible on a full time and long term basis with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract at a Pupil Referral Unit in Manchester. Pay between £100 and £140/day dependant on experience and qualification of the chosen teacher.

To join us and be successful in this PRU Teacher role, you will need to:

• Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
• Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
• Have the legal right to work in the UK.

The right candidate will have experience teaching across a range of subjects, including core subjects, at KS3 level and will have the ability to engage small groups of hard to reach pupils that are working at lower than expected levels for their age. You will need the ability to engage, motivate and differentiate to meet individual levels and needs while managing challenging behaviour in conjunction with the class TA. Candidates will be considered with QTS, QTLS, HLTA or other relevant qualifications that indicate teaching knowledge and experience. Ideally you will have experience as PRU Teacher, SEN Teacher, Intervention Teacher or LAC Tutor in the past although strong mainstream teachers will also be considered.

The setting is a small secondary PRU that caters for young people across KS3 and 4. All pupils have been excluded from mainstream education and have an EHCP for SEMH and associated needs. Therefore a large part of this PRU Teacher role will be to build strong relationships with pupils based on honesty, consistency and mutual respect setting appropriate boundaries. You will need to act as a positive role model and persevere through challenging days to show pupil's that you are there to help them progress and improve their life chances and not give up on them.
