About the school - RE Teacher - Merton, West London

Based in the green and thriving borough of Merton, this is a high performing academy secondary school which is close to numerous transport links and a short journey from Central London. In this ambitious RE department, you will be joining six specialist teachers who are eager to promote the subject through collaborative CPD, sharing resources and observing best practice! Students are developed into inquisitive learners where questioning and evaluation form a deep-rooted base to the RE curriculum. Furthermore, the department benefits from modern updated classrooms with interactive whiteboards and regularly updated text books. The attainment levels of students have been maintained as well above national average for numerous years and there are high expectations of classes achieving these levels in RE during GCSEs and A levels. The school has recently undergone an Ofsted where it was graded "Outstanding", highlighting the excellent leadership, results, inclusive environment and behaviour. From January 2020, the school is looking to appoint a driven RE teacher who will be able to maintain these "outstanding" levels of engagement and learning. This role is open to an NQT or an experience RE teacher as the school is not only able to provide an excellent induction programme but additionally ongoing CPD to progress teachers from any point in their career.
