Working in conjunction with our partner school. Tradewind are seeking a Reception class teacher to start in September 2021. This is a full-time, long-term role which will be for the full academic year and there will be the opportunity to apply for a permanent post in September 2022. Your salary for this Reception post will match your skills, experience, and suitability to the role.

About the School

As the Reception Teacher, you will be working in a 2 form, Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' Primary School in an accessible area of East Manchester. Located under 2 miles of the City centre, this school has a fantastic reputation in the local area and benefits from a strong and well-established senior leadership team. You will be surrounded by an energetic and ambitious cohort of teachers and support staff who are motivated to provide the children in their care with the best possible learning opportunities.

This school is ideally located withing 2 miles East of the city centre. There is public transport access from Tameside, Oldham and Manchester and the school has a large, secure staff car park.

This school is already oversubscribed for the academic year 2021 - 22 so you will be responsible for a Reception class of around 30 children and as well as a well large, well-resourced classroom, you will have a full time Teaching Assisting.

Due to the disruption of the last academic year, the school anticipate their Nursery cohort to arrive to Reception at a lower developmental level than in a normal year. Because of this, the school have requested that any potential applicant has specific Early Years training/experience as you will be expected to bridge any gaps needed. Prior experience within a Nursery setting will be advantageous but not essential.

Your main responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Planning and preparation of the full Early Years curriculum.
  • Recording and reporting on the development of the children in your class
  • Teaching a balanced curriculum to ensure every child fulfils their full potential
  • Encourage learning and development stories, drawing and play
  • Assist in children's personal, social and emotional development.
  • Collaboration with the other Reception Teacher to ensure continuity of learning across both classes

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience or a relevant Early Years qualification
  • References that support your successful teacher training
  • The right to work in the U.K
  • Availability from September and the commitment for a full academic year
