On behalf of our client school, we're seeking a full time Reception class teacher to start in May 2021 to cover a maternity leave at a wonderful 2-form entry Primary School in South Manchester. This is a full-time role which is expected to run until May 2022, and you will be responsible for a Reception class of 30 children and you will welcome a Nursery cohort of 28 children into Reception in September 2021. This is an exciting role which comes with a competitive daily rate which will reflect your experience

This Ofsted rated 'Good' school currently operates as a 2- form entry school with average class sizes of around 30 pupils. This primary school is very popular and sits ideally in the trendy area of Chorlton and West Didsbury. This school is accessible by public transport and benefits from a large, secure staff car park.

Your responsibilities as the Reception Teacher role will include but will not be limited to:

  • Undertaking full teaching responsibility for a Reception class of 30 children
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, attainment and progression of pupils
  • Planning lessons that include both outdoor and indoor lessons
  • Creating a classroom where children work in a purposeful and stimulating environment that supports a wide range of learning needs.
  • Working alongside several Early Years support staff to ensure every child is engaged and safe.

Whilst working at this school, you will have full access to staff training and the support of a very experienced Headteacher and senior leadership team.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Either extensive experience or a recognised Early Years Qualification
  • A proven track record within the Early Years and references to support this.
  • The availability to start as soon as possible and the commitment for the rest of the academic year
