The Headteacher is looking for a creative and self-motivated Reception Teacher who shares the schools passion for providing the very best education for pupils. This is a full time position commencing April 2021 until the end of the academic year in July 2021. There may be the option for this role, or a similar role to continue in September 2021.

The school has an excellent reputation locally and has an established leadership team who are vibrant and fun to work alongside. The school aim to make learning a fun and special experience. Their curriculum is designed to inspire pupils to be kind, caring individuals with high aspirations. Pupils come from a range of backgrounds and parents are very supportive and there is a lovely, community atmosphere here.

The school has a traditional feel and is well resourced for indoor and outdoor learning for every year group.

The school is seeking a Reception Teacher who possesses:

  • Recent experience of teaching in Key Stage One
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of the UK Curriculum
  • Effective strategies to include and meet the needs of all pupils
  • A very good knowledge of teaching phonics
  • The ability to monitor, assess, record and report pupil progress, in line with school policy, and use this to inform future planning. The school uses the "Tapestry" system to track progress and to plan for future learning and you will ideally be familiar with this system.
  • A flexible approach to work, with good team skills, excellent spoken and written English and the ability to work as part of a close-knit team.

The core duties of this Reception Teacher role are:

  • Take responsibility for planning, preparing, marking and teaching a class of Reception pupils
  • Manage pupil progress socially and academically whilst tracking the progress of individual pupils within the class
  • Manage and lead a small team of experienced support staff.

The school is located in North West London. There is a London Underground station nearby and a on street parking available.

  • Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, overseas police clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
