Are you a support worker with a person centred approach, looking to make a real difference in a young person's life? If you are looking for residential work, supporting young people with special educational needs in the Wandsworth area, then Tradewind has a wonderful opportunity for you!

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a specialist residential setting that looks after young people with varied complex and severe needs between the ages of 8-18. The role (hours to be confirmed on a rolling rota) would occasionally need someone willing to travel within the Wandsworth borough for home visits with families, but it would mainly be based at the residential setting, working in a 121 capacity supporting and promoting daily functions and activities. Ideally this is for someone to start immediately with the intention of longevity - a permanent appointment will be made for the successful member of staff.

The right person will;
*Have a positive attitude towards supporting young people with complex needs and desire independent and fulfilling lives for those in their care
*Be able to communicate effectively and sensitively using a variety of appropriate methods when working with SEN (knowledge of PECS or BSL is desirable)
*Willingly want to assist in designing individualised programmes of leisure, education and social opportunities for young people with SEN
*Have the ability to report and describe events accurately and articulately (maintaining regular records and care plans for individuals will be mandatory for progress reviews on the young people)

The setting is based in a beautifully green, suburban area of Wandsworth and is easily accessed by foot from the station (10 mins walk). Alternatively there is also parking for those that drive.

If you are committed to making a difference and know how to create a safe, nurturing environment for young people in Wandsworth with SEN then we would love to hear from you!
