Job Title: School Caretaker
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Full-time (7.30am-3.30pm) or Split Shifts (7.30am-11.00am and 2.15pm-6.00pm)
Start Date: Immediate
Responsibilities:
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join a primary school in Sheffield as a School Caretaker. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the school environment, contributing to the overall safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Key Holder Responsibilities:
- Open and close the school premises securely.
- Respond to alarm call-outs outside regular working hours when necessary.
Repairs and Maintenance:
- Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks around the school premises.
- Report and liaise with external contractors for more extensive repairs.
Health and Safety Checks:
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
Grounds Maintenance:
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the school grounds.
- Manage waste disposal in accordance with environmental guidelines.
Security:
- Monitor and control access to the premises, ensuring the security of the school buildings.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining security systems.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a caretaker or facilities management role is desirable.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks and health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work full-time or split shifts as required.
