School Design and Technology Technician
Our educational agency is proud to partner with a successful secondary school in Epsom, Surrey, in their search for an enthusiastic and motivated DT Technician to join their Design and Technology department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all practical aspects of the DT curriculum are effectively supported and delivered.
Duties:
- Preparing materials and equipment for lessons and practical sessions, ensuring that all tools and equipment are safely maintained and stored
- Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons, providing guidance and support where needed
- Managing stock levels of materials and equipment, ordering and maintaining supplies as necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment usage and ensuring that all equipment is returned and stored correctly after use
- Undertaking basic maintenance and repair work on DT equipment
- Ensuring that all relevant Health and Safety procedures are adhered to in the DT department
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working in a similar role, ideally within a school environment
- Have good practical skills and be able to work accurately and methodically
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team, and to communicate well with colleagues and students
- Have a good understanding of Health and Safety procedures in a DT context
- Be committed to supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning in DT
