School Science Technician - South Liverpool

We are seeking a full time School Science Technician to start ASAP in our client Secondary school within South Liverpool. This is a temporary role expected to last for at least one full academic term.

Our client is a warm, welcoming and diverse Secondary school which welcomes students from a broad range of backgrounds. As an Ofsted rated Outstanding school pupils behaviour is exceptional and their attitude towards learning and staff is excellent which is reflected through the high expectations of both senior leadership and teachers and their commitment to achieving academic excellence.

Science is a subject the school excels in and their standards are set exceptionally high. They also boast an exemplary Science department with a highly motivated technician team, up to date scientific equipment, and well-equipped laboratories and prep rooms. The department is continuously developing ideas and resources to make its lessons both informative and stimulating and practical lessons are always popular with students.

The school has onsite parking and great transport links being within walking distance to several bus stops and a train station with link across Merseyside.

Your role as a School Science Technician will consist of:

*Ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for practical lessons and
demonstrations, liaising with the Science department
*Administrating safety checks and routine maintenance of equipment
*Keeping relevant Health and Safety knowledge up to date
*Assisting teaching staff in the running of practical sessions for pupils

The ideal School Science Technician will:

*A strong knowledge of Science and a genuine interest in the subject
*A degree qualification in any area of science would be desirable
*Previous experience of working as a School Science Technician would be desirable
*Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both
students and staff
