The school is in search of a talented School Secretary to provide crucial support to the Headteacher and the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Secretarial:
- The School Secretary will excel in offering secretarial support to the Headteacher, including diary management and responding to urgent emails.
- They will maintain confidentiality in supporting the Headteacher as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Administrative Extraordinaire:
- Working closely with the senior leadership team, the role involves ensuring the smooth operation of school processes.
- Efficiently managing office systems, including electronic tools and diaries, is essential.
Meetings:
- The School Secretary will coordinate meetings and diligently take minutes.
- They will prepare documents and maintain organised correspondence.
Pupil Database:
- Managing and updating the pupil database (SIMs.net) is a key responsibility, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Handling student admissions data with precision is crucial.
Admissions and Prospectus Powerhouse:
- Actively pursuing rising 5 applications by the Autumn deadline is part of the role.
- Overseeing termly admissions into Nursery provision and coordinating the production of the School Prospectus are key tasks.
Year-End:
- Managing year-end SIMs routines as per the Local Authority (LA) schedule is vital.
- Ensuring smooth transitions for departing students and maintaining accurate termly pupil census data are essential.
Compliance:
- Navigating school policies, including safeguarding and diversity, with care and compliance, is required.
- Maintaining GDPR compliance and confidentiality is a critical aspect of the role.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous administrative experience is advantageous.
- Proficiency in office software is expected.
- Strong organisational and time management skills are necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
- Attention to detail and discretion are vital.
