Tradewind are working with a good school in Hull, who are looking to recruit a Science teacher from January 2021, initially until Easter 2021 (this may be subject to change). This position is a maternity cover position, and is full time. All planning, marking, and duties expected of a permanent teacher will be expected for this role, and for that reason the payment will be in line with the main teaching pay scale (up to MPS6).

This is a department that is extremely organised, and the subject leader has a wealth of resources to share, meaning planning for this position will be minimal. All planning and marking associated with a teaching position will be expected for this role, and as such the successful candidate can expect pay that is reflected in this. We are willing to hear from candidates with any science specialism, as there are a number of practitioners in the department who can cover the different subject specialisms. You will mainly be teaching Key Stage 3 science, so we are looking for a practitioner who can commit to teaching all elements of science to Key Stage 3 students. Teaching to Key Stage 4 will most likely come in the form of Intervention Teaching to students who require some additional help catching up with the vast amount of content in the Science GCSE.

Successful candidates can expect to earn between £120.00 and £189.53 per day for this position, depending on qualifications and experience. As you will be paid to scale for this position, you will be expected to attend any parents evenings that the school are running, and you will be treated as a permanent member of staff, with PPA time and free periods for planning and marking purposes. Ideally we are looking for a practitioner who is fully qualified with QTS, but of course we will be interested in hearing from practitioners who are qualified in the FE sector, with experience teaching students in the 11-16 age range.

The school itself is a wonderful school that really is in the heart of the community. The school believes in more than just progress for progress sake, and work extremely hard to promote wellbeing and further opportunities to the students in their community. The opportunity to participate beyond timetabled hours will be plentiful in this school (but not expected), so we welcome applications from teachers who share the believe to promote development in the students in their care. The schools timetabled hours are between 8:45AM and 3:30PM. There is ample space in the car park for practitioners who drive, and there is a regular bus route from the Hull City centre for practitioners who don't drive. We are looking for practitioners who have experience teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

The role:
* Delivering Key Stage 3 and 4 Science (any specialism at Key Stage 4)
* Planning lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Marking in line with the national curriculum
Planning intervention sessions for Key Stage 4 students
