Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a Science Teacher, ideally with a Physics specialism, for a highly successful comprehensive school which has been serving its local South East London community for over 50 years. This is a full-time, permanent post beginning in September 2020. The school are looking conduct interviews via Zoom.

THE SCHOOL

Located near Bromley, this is a "good" school (Ofsted 2018) with an ethos that encourages high expectations and a well-disciplined approach to learning. The school is very popular and has 1326 students including the Sixth Form.

Set in a beautiful rural location, the school is surrounded by open spaces. The school has extensive sports and community facilities which include tennis courts, gymnasium and 3G football pitches.

THE POST

This full-time post is available from September 2020 and offers an exciting opportunity to join a successful and thriving Faculty. The successful candidate will be required to teach across the ability range at KS3, KS4 and A Level.

Whilst applications from candidates new to the profession are welcomed, TLR2A/B can be considered for a candidate with sufficient experience to provide leadership in the department.

THE SCIENCE FACULTY

The faculty has seen steady improvements over the last 5 years and results are continuing to rise in all Key Stages. It is a strong, friendly team of well qualified teachers who look forward to new approaches to teaching Science to engage the students and raise their attainment. All staff are issued with a lap top computer and all laboratories have ceiling mounted projectors. The Faculty is supported by a Lead Practitioner and an experienced team of Laboratory Technicians.

THE PERSON

The person appointed to this post will:
*Be a fully qualified teacher of Science with a Physics specialism
*Be passionate about Science and able to convey this to students
*Be an outstanding classroom teacher
*Be enthusiastic and energetic
*Possess clear and effective communication skills
*Demonstrate a good understanding of issues in Science
*Support the work of the Faculty in creating a successful department ethos that is centred on student achievement and well being
*Promote a dynamic and motivating approach to teaching and learning
*Understand how to ensure all students reach their potential regardless of their background or ability.
*Have the ability to communicate well, to work as a member of a team, and to have effective working relationships with students, staff and parents.
*Have the ability to contribute to the wider work of the school, including our work as form tutors.
*Demonstrate continuing personal professional development
*Have a commitment to equal opportunities and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Teaching Responsibilities:
*To undertake a designated programme of teaching across the relevant key stages.
*Teach consistently high quality lessons.
*Plan and deliver schemes of work and lessons that meet the requirements of KS4 and KS5.

To apply you will need to:
*Hold QTS status or equivalent teaching qualification.
*Have excellent knowledge of the Science curriculum.
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS disclosure, Overseas Police Clearance (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
