An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding teacher to join a thriving and successful client to teach Science. The role will start after half term and would be for the rest of the academic year which will lead to a permanent role.

Our client is in the top 10% of schools in England in the government's School Performance Tables. They provide a calm and happy atmosphere and set high standards of respect, courtesy, hard work and achievement for all children and staff. They are a very successful school in every way.
This post would suit a NQT or a more experienced science teacher who can teach General Science to both Key Stage 3 and 4. In Key Stage 3 Students are assessed periodically using both formative and summative assessments which covers scientific knowledge and experimental skills and investigations. In Key stage 4 Science (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics or Combined Sciences) using Edexcel. Science involve some extracurricular activities including science clubs, science weeks & field studies.

Their aim for science is to ensure all children develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. To develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them; and that all students are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future.

The department are passionate about Science being hands on, practical subject and as a result, you will find our children regularly designing and carrying out experiments, participating in science related trips and developing high level subject knowledge that highlights their intellectual curiosity.

If successfully you will be joining high-performing department with experience colleagues whose role is to support you through the next stages of your professional development. You will report to the Head of Department and would be responsible to provide the full learning experience and support the students. You will also promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and of the Form Tutor Group as a whole. You will liaise with a Pastoral Leader to ensure the implementation of the school's Pastoral System. Students are overwhelmingly well-behaved and are a credit to them. They expect and require high standards of behaviour from students at all times.

You would be involved in the school's staff development programme by participating in arrangements for further training and professional development. You will be offered continue personal development in the relevant areas including subject knowledge and teaching methods. The school will ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support.
