Tradewind Recruitment is working with a large, progressive Secondary School in Brent who are seeking a Graduate Science Teaching Assistant to support student learning and progression across the curriculum. You will be supporting students with a range of mild SEN and other barriers to their learning in the Science department and a range of other subjects too. This is a full time, long term position commencing immediately and will run until the end of the academic year for the right candidate.

The Role - Science Teaching Assistant - Brent, North West London:
*As a Science Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the classroom teacher with their responsibility for the development and progress of all students who have additional learning needs
*You will set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence within your students and assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Support Plans, and/or Communication, Sensory and other programmes
*You will promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents within and beyond the classroom in line with established policy and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour and create and maintain a purposeful, structured and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of students' work
*You will have the opportunity of getting involved further with the Science Department by joining or creating extra-curricular clubs and groups to further foster a love for science within the school!
