Job Title: Science Technician - Chemistry Specialist

Hours: 34 hours per week, term time only

Required from: September 2023, or sooner by negotiation

Our school is seeking an experienced Science Technician to join our flourishing Science Faculty. As the current postholder is taking up a new position in the school, we need a new member to take on the responsibility of organising, delivering, and developing technical services to the Science Faculty. The successful candidate will support the teaching of a range of science subjects from KS3 to 'A' level. While we are particularly interested in candidates with Chemistry specialism/experience, we are willing to consider other specialisms and work allocations for the right candidate.

Our school is founded on an outward-looking and pluralist ethos that combines open-minded values with a love of the varied riches of tradition. Our staff and leadership team includes different faiths and none at all levels. We are a school like no other and our culture promotes purposeful good humour and humanity.

Our academic outcomes are outstanding with a track record of both raw results and added value. Our students have consistently gained places at prestigious institutions, including Oxbridge and for Medical and Veterinary Study. Our ALPS grade has been consistently 2 at both A level and GCSE, and our 2019 'Progress 8' score was 0.68.

We appoint on potential as well as experience and are committed to supporting staff development. We offer a rich CPL programme that includes full induction for new teaching staff, financial support for MA courses, Action Research projects, and many other opportunities. Additional responsibilities are always considered for suitable candidates, and we offer NQTs employment for the last few weeks of the summer term.

Our school is located in beautiful new £50m buildings overlooking the Green Belt and is easily accessible from Northern, Piccadilly, and Overground rail links. Public buses run past the entrance, and a school coach service (available to staff) serves our whole catchment area. We attract students from eloquent and supportive communities across North London and Hertfordshire.

If you are an experienced Science Technician who is passionate about science and teaching, we encourage you to apply for this role. Please send your CV to today!
