OFSTED rated Outstanding, this Secondary School in Ealing is looking for Secondary Teachers to work within their specialist SEN provision. The SEN Teacher will support students with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH), Autism (ASC), ADHD, attachment disorder, anxiety disorders, school phobia and behavioural difficulties.
The school has designed an alternative curriculum to meet the needs of students requiring specialist support. This curriculum includes support at Key Stage 3 for Phonics, Literacy, Numeracy and SEAL. At Key Stage 4 a variety of different pathways are offered, including a variety of additional support classes and vocational options. A large component of this role will be working as an Inclusion teacher, working alongside staff in the mainstream school to ensure all pupils needs are being met and students are actively engaging with the mainstream curriculum.
A passion for supporting SEN pupils to overcome obstacles and engage in school life is essential to work in this very inclusive setting. This school places a heavy emphasis on including SEN students in all activities from Outdoor Education to School Drama shows and out of school trips. Being creative and taking a proactive approach to adapt lessons for SEN students will ensure you make a positive impact. The right person for the job will be highly motivated to learn and grow, as this school invests regularly in upskilling and training staff.
The SEN Teacher would:
*Use initiative and be proactive within the classroom
*Teach small classes in the SEN provision on the main school site
*Differentiate resources to support SEN students to achieve lesson objectives
*Support and track the progress of students identified as SEN and/or with an EHCP
*Benefit from opportunities for Specialist Training in SEN, specifically ASD, through the school and external training providers
*Work as an inclusion teacher across the mainstream school when needed
*Work alongside experienced and specialist staff in a high performing team
