At Tradewind in Bristol, we are looking to recruit a tutor with Autism experience for a SEN school in Frome. Our client is a large SEN school within easy reach of public transport and motorways from Frome, Bath, and Trowbridge.

-Autism experience
-Teaching experience within a SEN school or a college
-A genuine in Autism and Aspergers
-Use of MAKATON and PECS
-Ability to foresee, manage and deescalate challenging behaviour within lines of school behaviour policy and report on behaviour changes effectively

The roles are part and fulltime and between school hours. Working hours are 0830-1530 Monday to Friday. This established SEN school require the right candidate to tutor their learners with identified Autism to aid them in their emotional and academic development through encouragement, positive reinforcement, and by creating a safe learning environment.

It will be expected that the tutor:

Develops plans and delivers the required level and standard of education to students/pupils through creative application of professional knowledge and teaching techniques.
Prepares plans and delivers small group and individual lessons for skills for life and curriculum subjects, observing, recording and reporting learner's individual development.
Will have a certificate in further education or teaching qualifications. The role holder is required to hold or work towards a specialist Skills for Life teaching qualification in literacy or numeracy. A broad based knowledge of further education is required and requirements of adult curriculum regarding government guidelines for adult literacy/numeracy.

Location: Frome
