An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teaching assistant to offer support to pupils at a Secondary School in Bromley. The students have challenging SEMH behavioural needs. Due to having SEMH, the pupils will find it difficult to pay attention in class and struggle with managing their frustration and behaviour. The role would be extremely challenging and will demand a lot of resilience.

Your role as a teaching assistant will be solely for the direct support of the children within their educational setting. You will provide continuous provision to the pupils by helping them stay focused in class, be persistent with your behaviour management strategies, simplifying and breaking down instructions when needed. You will also need to build up trusting relationship with your pupils.

The successful candidate must be able to remain patient and calm when the pupils are feeling frustrated and show challenging behaviour. that it is important you can help enhance their communication skills and integrate them into the class. Some pupils are currently going through some personal home issues, so the school is looking for a candidate who can be a positive role model and wants to offer the pupils their full support.
