SEMH Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced SEMH specialist Support Worker/ Teaching Assistant to work in a highly regarded SEMH Primary School in Leigh working with Primary aged pupils. The role starts 1st June 2020 to July 2021 with the potential of going permanent at a daily rate between £65 and £75 per day.

The pupils whilst challenging in behaviour are academically able and a number have an interest in art. As such anyone with a background in art is encouraged to apply.

The SEMH specialist Support Worker/ Teaching Assistant in working with Primary aged pupils with SEMH who have been permanently excluded from mainstream settings. The school has small class sizes with 6 pupils and are looking for an SEMH specialist to work with KS2 pupils with an aim of getting them back into a mainstream setting.

Must have previous behavioural experience whether it be in an Alternative Provision, SEMH school or Support Worker setting

Those interested in becoming an art therapist are also encouraged to apply

* Team Teach or positive restraint training is preferred but not essential training will be provided
* You will work closely with experienced SEMH teachers providing 1:1 and small group support in a challenging behaviour environment.

The school is easily accessible by car with close links to the motorway with a large car park and a bus stop 7 minutes away.

Essential requirements:
-Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)
-NQT's Welcome
-This OFSTED 'Good' Alternative Provision School looking for an experienced Science Teacher
-Knowledge and understanding working with challenging behaviour, trauma and Social and Emotional behavioural difficulties.
-Have the right to work in the UK
-Reference able experience within the past 2 years.
