*Work with a supportive team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants
*Experience of working with individuals with challenging behaviour and Autism
*Firm understanding of the social, emotional and mental health needs of young vulnerable people and guiding them in their school day

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teaching assistant to offer support to pupils at a Secondary Provision, the students will all have an EHCP and a diagnosis of SEMH or ASD. The role could be extremely challenging on some days and will demand a lot of resilience. You will work in a team of Teaching Assistants to provide the best support network for the students.

Your role as a teaching assistant will be to support of the children within their educational setting. You will provide continuous provision to the pupils by helping them focus in class, be persistent with the schools behaviour management strategies, simplifying and breaking down instructions when needed. You will also need to build up trusting relationship with your pupils.

The successful candidate must be able to remain patient and calm when students are upset or anxious in class and support the learning with the help of the teacher in class. This is a rewarding role and will come with some challenges. Calm, and effective behaviour strategies will put you in good stead to secure the role.

A Team-Teach qualification or relevant qualification (e.g. PRICE) are highly desirable but not essential.
