We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Learning Support Assistant to work in a warm and friendly school, in South Stockport, for children and young adults with SEMH, ADHD, ASDMLD and SpLD.

You will support students with an interactive and practical curriculum and guide them to find independence and social skills by building strong and positive relationships.

- Have previous experience working with special educational needs pupils
- Level 2 or equivalent childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification as a minimum
- Relevant moving and handling training, and Team Teach is desirable.

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for experienced residential support workers to work within a independent school across Greater Manchester. We are looking for hardworking and reliable candidates to join a thriving Residential School, to start after half term.

The school provides residential settings for Looked After Children with EHC plans stating 'Specialist Support as well as a independent school. The independent school believes in helping students reach their full potential and celebrating achievement. They aim is to provide a stimulating, challenging learning environment as well as breaking down barriers to learning. There are 4 schools attached to each of the homes with a capacity of 15 pupils in each, catering for pupils across KS3 - KS4. Salary varies depending on experience £55 - £65 a day.

The ideal candidate:
* Have experience in a care or support setting
* Caring, approachable and passionate personality
* Hoist training, PECS or Makaton would be advantageous but not essential
* Comfortable with personal care
* Experience of working with challenging behaviours and
* Team Teach training will be advantageous
* NCFE/CACHE Level 2/3 Supporting and Learning in Schools
* Patient and nurturing mannerism with a good understanding of de-escalation techniques

The role:
* SEN 1:1 support worker working alongside an individual child supporting them with their individual targets and general learning and development needs.
* To contribute towards reviews and observations of the child's progress as appropriate.
* Work as part of a team supporting other staff
* Use your knowledge, experience and imagination to come up with new ideas and activities.
* Supporting the serving of refreshments to the child you are assigned to and overseeing lunchtimes.
Each of the schools have parking on site and are amid residential homes. There are great bus links to each of the sites but may require additional 10 minute walk.
