We are currently working with a Mainstream secondary school in Cheltenham and we are recruiting for a long term SEN Teacher with EBD/SEMH Experience to work with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties in secondary phases. The role involves teaching KS3 and KS4 students in their SEN department and it would be preferable to find someone who has experience teaching lower level/KS3 Maths. The school is a mainstream school which offers a specialist provision catering for pupils with EBD/SEMH and Attachment Disorders. They require a Teacher with experience of working with learners with challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties and someone who is compassionate and engaging. The provision caters for approximately 20 students between years 7-11, so the successful candidate would need to be able to differentiate to provide teaching and learning across all ages.

The position is on long term temporary basis and starts in June 7th 2021, this could turn into a permanent position in the near future.

Previous experience of working with young people with EBD/SEMH or in a PRU or mainstream secondary school is essential. It will be expected that candidates will have good communication skills and appropriate qualifications to be able to meet the high standards that the school has. It is also of utmost importance that you can relate and build good and trusting relationships with these students. The school encourages their students to be the best that they can and to believe that they can do anything that they put their minds to. They believe that every student should have the same opportunities no matter what ability they have, and they need a teacher who can encourage and support these young people to gain confidence in themselves.

Must have:
- Experience teaching young people with EBD in the past or have worked in very challenging mainstream secondary schools.
- Preferably will have experience of teaching lower level Maths or be a Maths specialist.
- Strong Behaviour management
- QTS- Secondary is preferred but not essential if you have good experience of working with young people with EBD and are confident to lead and teach small classes of secondary aged students.
