A Specialist Resource Provision in Ealing is looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to join their team supporting students with Autism (ASC). The main Primary School has close to 700 pupils ages 3-11 years old. However, within this provision you would be working closely with 8-10 pupils aged from Year 1 to Year 6. Children are usually supported in their age groups with a maximum of 2 pupils per age group being admitted each year. All children in the provision have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (including Asperger's) and ASC must be the primary barrier to learning. Some students may also have complex needs, Anxiety, ADHD, behaviour and learning needs

This is a small but supportive team, comprised of 2 Teachers, 2 HLTAs, 2 Teaching Assistants and 3 lunch time supervisors. The focus of this provision is to ensure pupils are supported to participate in the school community, attending mainstream classes, participating in school projects and trips, whilst receiving specialist support according to their individual learning needs. The provision uses a bespoke curriculum, created to address the main challenges pupils with Autism face, such as social communication and emotional regulation. Staff are trained in and use a variety of teaching approaches including aspects of TEACCH, PECS and Social Stories. Children also receive fine motor skills and speech and language skills support weekly, in addition to 1:1 time with therapists. The ideal applicant will enjoy working on a 1:1 and small group basis, building a strong and supportive relationship with their pupils.

The school provides support to families as well as children, seeking to engage and involve parents in their children's development and learning as much as possible. Family support workers are available throughout the day to meet with parents. Specialist members of the on-site Multi-Disciplinary team run advice and support groups, allowing parents to meet, raise issues and ask questions. Training is also regularly offered to parents on academic topics as well as social and emotional development. This is an opportunity to join a caring and proactive community, eager to provide holistic support to students with Autism.

The Teacher would:
*Work with an Autism (ASC) specific provision providing support for 10 students aged nursery level to year 6.

*Teach social communication, emotional regulation and social skills by working alongside therapists in weekly occupational therapy, music therapy and speech and language therapy.
*Have experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

The school has:
*A well-resourced environment including a sensory room, break-out space, therapy room, a low arousal lunch setting and a small, set apart playground area
*Specialist pedagogical and assessment strategies which address the learning and communication needs of this group of students eg: TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction.
*A Multi-Disciplinary Team on-site with Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists
