We have a school in East Hertfordshire part of an Academy Trust. It is a SEND Secondary School in which provides education for students with a range of needs including Autism, Down's Syndrome and other conditions that result in a developmental delay. The school caters for 160 pupils in School year 7 to 11.

The school in need of an experience SEN Teacher responsible for the provision of a full learning experience and support for students across the school.

Main Core Duties:

*To teach students according to their educational needs, including the setting and marking of work to be carried
*out by the student in School and elsewhere.
*To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students and to keep
*such records as are required.
*To provide, or contribute to, oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students
*and groups of students.
*To ensure that ICT, Literacy and Numeracy are reflected in the teaching / learning experience of students.
*To undertake a designated programme of teaching.
*To ensure an outstanding learning experience for students which meets internal and external quality standards.
*To prepare and update subject materials.
*To use a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to student needs and demands of
*the syllabus.
*To maintain discipline in accordance with the School's procedures, and to encourage good practice with regard
*to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
*To undertake assessment of students as requested by external examination bodies, faculty and School
*procedures.
*To mark, grade and give written/verbal and diagnostic feedback as required.

The ideal person for this role will be a qualified teacher who will bring an engaging personality and a sense of humour to the work of the school. You will be expected to bring creativity and innovation to developing a holistic curriculum designed to meet the needs of the individual student.
The school are also keen to hear from primary practitioners who have a particular interest in Maths & English, to support their students. Experience of working within a Special School is not a pre-requisite for this position. Rather, an interest and enthusiasm for developing within this exciting, challenging and rewarding area of education is key.

Salary expectations for this role as a class teacher are between MPS1 -UPS3 . £24,373 - £40,490pa plus additional SEN allowance. The school surrounded in beautiful green land, is a 15-minute walk from a mainline train station and also has a large onsite carpark.

The essentials
*Experience teaching with a SEN environment
*Ability to teach KS1 & 2
*BA Education or equivalent with QTS
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
