Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding SEN teacher for a very popular SEN school in Hackney. The role is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for teaching SEN pupils. The post is to start ASAP working until the end of the academic year.
This position is best suited to teachers who have experience working with Autism (ASC) and additional complex learning difficulties. All students in the school will have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). As a SEN teacher, you should be able to adapt your lessons and subject material to suit each student's ability.
The SEN Teacher would:
*Work with a class of 10 pupils
*Teach pupils with complex needs and Autism (ASC)
*Be supported by 3 full-time teaching assistants in class
*Use proactive de-escalation techniques and follow individual therapy plans
*Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
*Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs
*Work closely with senior leadership and your team of support staff
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status
*Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
*Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students with autism, with a variety of special needs, who present challenging behaviour.
