The pupils at the school are currently working on GCSEs, NVQs and Functional skills. There is a maximum of 80 pupils in the school, who are fairly split between the Ks4 and Ks5 departments.

The provisions aim is to help pupils develop and improve their skills, whilst also supporting them to integrate into their local communities and looking for life after education for their careers. There is a person-centred practice at the provision and many students are assigned with 1:1 support for a minimum of 10 hours per week. This enables the pupils to fulfil their lives and help them to achieve the things that are important.

It is key for this role that you are positive and enjoy having a laugh. The pupils you will be supporting are an active bunch and enjoy various leisure and activities. Please ensure you can commit to this role, as reliability for the students you will be supporting is a key factor. They require stability and need support in accessing activities to allow them to achieve their full potential.
The Teacher would:
*Work with pupils who have autism and complex learning difficulties
*Helping all students enjoy their learning and get as much out of life as they can
*Identify challenges and ensure that the pupils learn
*Support pupils with communication skills
*Help pupils develop their communication and life skills

To join us and be successful in this Special Needs Teacher role you will need to:
*Hold QTS status, QTLS status or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
