Tradewind are currently recruiting for an outstanding English SEN teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit in Wandsworth. The role is a full-time teaching position with responsibility for teaching SEN pupils. The post is to start in January working until the end of the academic year.
This position is best suited to teachers who have strong English Teaching experience and are comfortable delivering 1:1 lessons as well as group classes. You will be teaching English to pupils aged 11-6 some of which will be working towards GCSE grades. As a SEN teacher, you should be able to adapt your lessons and subject material to suit each student's ability.
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status
*Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
*Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students aged 11-16, with a variety of special needs, who present challenging behaviour.
The school is in the borough of Wandsworth and is accessible by nearby public transport links.
The SEN Teacher would:
*Work with a class of 10 pupils
*Be supported by a full-time teaching assistant in class
*Use proactive de-escalation techniques and follow individual therapy plans
*Teach 45-minute lessons, these may be subject specific or across all subjects depending on the year group and ability of the class
*Be responsible for ensuring all students achieve their highest potential
*Tailor the learning environment and subject material to suit individual needs
The ideal candidate for this SEN Teacher role will:
*Hold Qualified Teacher Status
*Be a qualified teacher, comfortable teaching both at functional skills and foundation level.
*Be experienced in, or comfortable working in an environment with students aged xx-xx, with a variety of special needs, who present challenging behaviour.
