The role will be working with secondary aged pupils with challenging behaviour and support them with functional skills and other subjects in the classroom.
Working hours are 0830-1530 and it will be Monday to Friday starting from September 2019. However, there are options for candidates who can only work part-time: 2 to 3 days a week. But the hours are unchangeable.
The school offers extracurricular activities and additional curriculum to students. Hence a keen interest in sports, horses, outdoor and practical activities would be ideal to build relationships with pupils.
The role would suit someone with experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour who have been excluded from mainstream education and can be nurturing.
After visiting the school, the school facilities and the expertise of the staff really impressed us. Behaviour of the pupils were well managed but also supported in a caring, friendly and nurturing manner. Staff seemed to be happy and working well together. It was incredible to see such young person-centred care given to students.
There is a strong leadership team that has got significant amounts of experience in educating young people with special needs. There is great support network around the students and staff including educational psychologists and local authority staff as well as great sports facilities and sensory support rooms.
