About Us: Our Additional Resource Provision (ARP) Unit caters to a small group of six active and engaged students who benefit from additional support. Located in Dagenham, our unit is an integral part of fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant in our ARP Unit, your role will be diverse and hands-on, including:

  1. In-Unit Support: Provide assistance to the Class Teacher in delivering tailored lessons that meet the specific needs of the students within the ARP Unit.
  2. 1:1 Support: Work closely with individual students, providing targeted support within mainstream classrooms to ensure their integration and participation.
  3. Proactive Engagement: Be proactive in identifying and addressing the needs of the students, adapting your approach to accommodate their active and dynamic learning styles.
  4. Behavioural Support: Assist in managing and redirecting challenging behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the ARP Unit and mainstream settings.
  5. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), and other staff to implement effective strategies for the educational and social development of the students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to adapt to the active and dynamic nature of the students, providing engaging and hands-on support.
  • Proactive and ready to hit the ground running, taking initiative in supporting both in the ARP Unit and mainstream classrooms.

How to Apply: If you are a dedicated and proactive individual with a passion for supporting the educational journey of students with additional needs, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience to Blake.simpson@twrecruitment.com
