Tradewind Recruitment is working with a primary school in Barnet borough, North London, which is seeking a Special Needs Assistant to joining the team in September, until July 2021. The salary for this role will be £75-80 per day, depending on experience.

About the School:

This is a lovely school and Tradewind has assisted them with staffing for many years. The school has children from a broad range of backgrounds with many home languages.
There is a lovely atmosphere here, with a dedicated Headteacher and senior management team, who have a determination to drive the school forward.

The Role:
The role will involve working with a number of children with special educational needs (SEN) throughout the school, although there is likely to be a greater need in the infants. The pupils have a variety of special needs, including autism and emotional and behavioral difficulties and the school is very interested in candidates who have a broad range of SEND experience in a primary school setting.SEND support staff at the school have varied roles and you will be switching between roles on a regular basis, so you should be adaptable and flexible. Some experience of PECS and/or Makaton is very welcome.

To join us and be successful in this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:

Hold a teaching assistant qualification
Have previous experience working with children with SEND in a primary school setting
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
Have the legal right to work in the UK
