Tradewind Recruitment is working with a primary school in Barnet borough, North London, which is seeking a full-time Special Needs Assistant to join the school team as soon as possible, until July 2021. The salary for this role will be £75-80 per day, depending on experience.

This school is close to Finchley and Tradewind has assisted them with staffing for many years. There is a lovely atmosphere here, with an inspiring headteacher and senior management team and it will be a great place to work.

The role will involve you working with a child on a 1:1 basis with has ASC and she has limited language so PECS experience would be useful. She spends most of the day in class, working with her own curriculum and you will be working alongside her, with some time away from class when she needs a break. Occasionally she can have challenging behaviour but this is generally rare. You should be calm, patient and perseverant and have good communication skills as you will be working closely with the class teacher. Sendco and keeping in contact with parents.

To join us and be successful in this Special Needs Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
*Hold a teaching assistant qualification, ideally level 3
*Have experience working with children with ASC in a primary school in the UK
*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
