Tradewind Recruitment is working with a lovely, one-form entry school in North London with an inclusive team and a great atmosphere throughout.
We are seeking a part-time, proactive SEN teaching assistant to support a lovely Y1 child for 5 mornings per week in this Barnet primary school (Ofsted "outstanding"). The child has a diagnosis of global development delay and has an EHCP. She has delayed language and communication skills, and experiences difficulties with learning, attention and concentration, self-care, and gross and fine motor skills. She also has significant food allergies.

The salary for this role will be around £40 per morning, depending on experience. The role will suit someone experienced, who is seeking the flexibility of a part-time role, whilst still being a key team member of the school.
We require someone who can:
·Support in lessons to verbally explain tasks and support task completion.
·Use visuals and Colourful Semantics to support understanding of language and behaviour.
·Run a wide range of daily interventions individually and with peers.
·Implement strategies from Speech and Language therapist and Occupational Therapists
·Support receptive, expressive language, speech and attention and listening skills through targeted work and generalising these skills.
·Facilitate fine and gross motor strengthening activities.
·Implement a toilet schedule.
·Support emotional development.
·Support structured play.

Key Requirements:
To be considered for this SEN TA role, you will need to:
*Have experience of working with children with special educational needs
*Your experience and skills should closely match the details given above
*You should have a caring, encouraging and positive approach and be a great communicator
*This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
*Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
*You must have the legal right to work in the UK
